Dr. Gilmore is a native of Prairie Village. After practicing for eight years at Mill Creek Animal Hospital, he purchased the Hospital from Dr. Mears in 2009 and is excited to continue its long tradition of excellence. Dr. Gilmore received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and his Master’s degree in Pathoimmunology from Kansas State University. Following completion of an internship at a large specialty and referral center in Chicago, he returned home to Kansas City. Dr. Gilmore has particular interest in all aspects of feline and internal medicine, as well as dentistry and oral surgery. In his spare time Dr. Gilmore competes in bike racing and triathlons as well as following K-State sports.

Dr. Mark Mears DVM, veterinarian in Shawnee KansasMark A. Mears, DVM

A Kansas City native, Dr. Mears and his family live in Shawnee. He is active in the local Chamber of Commerce, as well as his church. Dr. Mears completed his undergraduate and veterinary medical degrees at Kansas State University. Dr. Mears founded Mill Creek in 1990 with the goal of providing state-of-the-art medical and surgical care for companion animals at a reasonable price. Dr. Mears has a special interest in surgery, particularly orthopedic surgery. He has successfully completed more than 150 reconstructive knee surgeries as well as many patellar surgeries and fracture repairs. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and relaxing at the lake.

Dr. Church is a native of Nebraska, but growing up in an Air Force family he has lived in nearly every part of the world. Dr. Church completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln prior to earning his doctorate in veterinary medicine from Kansas State University. Dr. Church practiced in Chicago for four years before returning home to his Midwest roots. He enjoys working to improve the human/pet bond as well as all aspects of wellness care, medicine, and surgery. Dr. Church lives with his wife and two daughters in Gardner.
