Dr. Gibbs was born and raised in Prairie Village and is a former Shawnee Mission East Lancer. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biology from Kansas University. Dr. Gibbs then earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Kansas State University in 2002. He is a member of the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association, the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Gibbs completed a rotating small animal internship at Mission Veterinary Emergency and Specialty before entering private practice. He has recently spent the last several years in a small animal practice in Chicago, but is excited to have returned home to Kansas City and joined the Mill Creek staff. His professional interests include endocrinology, particularly feline diabetes , dentistry, and senior patient care. However the most rewarding aspect of his career is building strong lifelong relationships with clients and their pets.
Dr Gibbs’ family includes his wife, Courtney, their two children, Olivia and Camden, and 5 pets. Their furry companions include 2 feline scamps that rule the roost, Beatrice and Bowie, a miniature Aussie named Truman, and 2 guinea pigs, Rocky and Max. When he’s not spending time with his family, Dr. Gibbs enjoys cheering on the local Kansas City sports teams and his beloved Jayhawks, camping, and practicing the culinary art of barbecue.
